A stabbing occurred early Saturday morning followed by a second incident early Sunday morning.

Police Investigate Stabbing Outside Oliveira's
Twenty-four hours after Peabody police responded to a stabbing outside Oliveira's Steak House, officers were called down to the Brazilian restaurant again for a fight between two males that ended in arrests and assault charges.

The first time, an officer was monitoring traffic leaving the Walnut Street restaurant around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday when a fight broke out, according to a police log entry. The officer said there was a possible stabbing and called for an ambulance.

A 28-year-old Lynn man was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital and a detective followed up with the victim there.

According to the log, the suspects were described as Hispanic or possibly Haitian males and there were five of them in a gold or tan Malibu that drove away from the scene.

The second incident occurred at approximately 12:54 a.m. on Sunday. Police received a call of a fight in progress at the restaurant.

According to the log, two females were taken to the police station and two males were arrested on assault charges.

Inacio Cesaragomes, 21, of Lowell, was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a one-way street violation.

Leonardo Ferrao, 21, of Lowell, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fight and no indications were given that it was connected to the first incident.

Oliveira's has been a trouble spot for police in recent years,  often as intoxicated patrons spilled into the neighborhood with brawls and vandalism.

Those issues did appear to lessen somewhat in the past year, however, as Oliveira's came under new ownership and police maintained a regular presence at closing time.
