Police Log: Car Fire Investigated

Excerpts from the Peabody Police Department log.

Monday, Aug. 4

At 2:35 p.m., a Dublin Road resident reported a lost dog. The dog is a tan/black German Shepherd named Sarge. He is wearing a dark-colored collar.

At 4:06 p.m., a Tracey Street resident reported the inside of a car was burned. Police found the fire started on a seat and put itself out. Police and Fire are investigating.

At 4:20 p.m., police received a call about a stolen ATV on Proctor Circle.

At 5:35 p.m., police received a call from Peabody Square after a bicycle seat was stolen from a bike.

Tuesday, Aug. 5

At 12:45 a.m., police summonsed a 15-year-old to court and charged the person with trespassing and using a motor vehicle without authority. Police summonsed the teen during a traffic stop on Irving Street.

At 7:28 a.m., a Mason Street resident reported someone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a duffel bag with assorted items. The person estimated the items taken are valued at about $300.

At 12:24 p.m., an employee at AT&T Mobility reported someone stole a phone that is valued at $650.

At 12:56 p.m., police responded to Summit Street about a two-car accident. There were no injuries. One driver was warned for a marked lanes violation. One vehicle was towed.
