Retired Peabody Officer Faces Child Porn Charges
A retired Peabody police officer is accused of storing pornographic images of children on his home computer that he downloaded from an online file sharing network.

Joseph Ferrante, 60, of 30 Bresnahan St., Peabody, was arrested on Monday and was due to be arraigned on charges of possession and dissemination of child pornography in Peabody District Court on Thursday, reports the Salem News.

Ferrante's arrest was the result of an investigation by the state police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit into an online file sharing network.

The Salem News reports state police showed up at Ferrante's home on Monday with a search warrant and discovered at least two videos on his computer depicting young boys engaged in sexual acts. Those same videos were found earlier on the file sharing service and linked back to Ferrante, according to police.
