Plymouth Woman Killed in Wheelchair Van Crash
A Plymouth woman was killed in a head-on crash involving a wheelchair van in Whitman. Four others were hurt—one seriously.

Whitman, MA — A Plymouth woman was killed and four more were hurt in a horrific crash in Whitman Thursday.
The woman was identified Friday morning as Francine Laterza, 61. She was a passenger in a Nissan sedan driven by another woman, who was seriously hurt in the crash but expected to survive. That driver's name was not released.

The crash happened on Auburn Street Thursday at about 3:50 p.m. when the Nissan driver appeared to swerve into the path of a wheelchair van with three people aboard, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz. Those three suffered minor injuries.
Cruz said an investigation was ongoing into why the Nissan appeared to swerve into the van.
