Yan Long Chow pleaded not guilty to intentionally running over his ex-wife.

QUINCY, MA — A 55-year-old Quincy man accused of murdering his wife by intentionally running her over four times pleaded not guilty Thursday.
Yan Long Chow was arraigned in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham. The charge comes following a Norfolk County Grand Jury indictment for first-degree murder.
On Sept. 2, police responded to a report of a woman struck by a car in Wollaston. At the scene, police found Li laying in the driveway face down. Paramedics at the scene observed a large hold near Li's head, exposing her skull. She was pronounced dead at the scene. During the reading of the gruesome details included in the police report, the judge told the prosecution to stop.

According to court records, Chow and his wife married in China and divorced in 1993. They remarried in 1998 and divorced again in 2005, but carried on as a couple and lived together. Police learned through interviews with family members and neighbors that the couple often argued, mainly over Chow's gambling habits. Li was making plans to return to China without Chow and had indicated to her mother that she was upset at Chow for gambling in Boston for two days straight without returning home.
Scott Martin, Chow's attorney, denied that gambling was an issue of contention and said the incident was an accident. He also requested $50,000 cash bail and home confinement for his client, arguing that he was willing to turn over his passport and if he was going to flee, he would have done it by now.
