Mighty Girls Fly Past Fundraising Goal

The Mighty Girls and their moms were, indeed, very mighty at Artist’s Row on Sunday afternoon.

The group set up a fundraising lemonade stand to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

The Mighty Girls Book & Adventure Club, located in and around the North Shore of Massachusetts, consists of girls ages 4-8, and their moms.

Each month, they get together to read a book starring a female protagonist and to do a related activity that teaches them new things and pushes them all (girls and moms) a bit out of their comfort zones.

This month, they read “Alex’s Lemonade Stand”, the true inspirational story of Alexandra Scott who, as she bravely fought her own battle against cancer, started holding lemonade stands at age 4 to raise money to help doctors and hospitals treat “kids like her”.

On Sunday, the Mighty Girls raised $1,100 for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in only three hours.

All the girls and their moms extended a heartfelt thank you to the community for helping them fly past their initial goal of raising $200 with the lemonade stand.
