Multiple Salem Students Vying for Hood Scholarship

Residents can vote for candidates on the Hood website, with national winners receiving $5,000.

Multiple Salem Students Vying for Hood Scholarship
There are plenty of student-athletes in the halls of Salem High School deserving of recognition.

Several Witches in particular are close to receiving that recognition thanks to the annual Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program. But they need the community's help.

Three Salem students are finalists for the national award, which will give the 18 winning entries $5,000 each.

Residents are encouraged to vote for the winner now through April 18 at 3 p.m. Each entry includes an essay on why the participant should be selected for the scholarship.

Rebecca Beaulieu, Patrick Charlton and Joshua McRae are Salem's representatives in the contest.
