Tuesday, March 25

  • At 5:00 p.m., police responded to an illegal trash dumping complaint on Larkin Lane.
  • At 6:27 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Essex Street.
  • At 7:22 p.m., police responded to a barking dog complaint on Madeline Avenue.
  • At 7:39 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Lafayette Street.
  • At 9:28 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on North Street.
  • At 9:36 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Beaver Street.
  • At 10:15 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Canal Street.
  • At 11:15 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on a man found sleeping behind the wheel near the intersection of Essex and Washington streets. Glenn F. Shanoski, 45, of 20 Claremont Terrace, Swampscott, was placed into protective custody.

Wednesday, March 26

  • At 1:50 a.m., police responded to a report of a man yelling on Lafayette Street.
  • At 4:15 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Highland Avenue.
  • At 6:21 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Highland Avenue.
  • At 7:51 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Barnes Avenue.
  • At 8:28 a.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Congress and Harbor streets.
  • At 10:06 a.m., a woman entered the police station to report that one of her tires was slashed overnight.
  • At 10:09 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Federal Street.
  • At 10:29 a.m., police responded to a report of identity theft on Highland Avenue.
  • At 12:16 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Family Dollar on Canal Street. Carla P. Alves, 39, of 61 Dunlap St., Salem, was arrested on two counts of shoplifting merchandise by concealment and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 12:26 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident in the East India Square parking garage.
  • At 1:17 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Cromwell Street.
  • At 1:19 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Cleveland Road. Craig C. Piper, 47, of 5 Cleveland St., Salem, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and threatening to commit a crime.
  • At 1:20 p.m., a man called police to report that someone stole a tire out of the back of his truck overnight.
  • At 1:23 p.m., a Summer Street resident called police to report stolen jewelry.
  • At 2:36 p.m., a Lafayette Street resident called police to report a package stolen out of their mail box. 
  • At 2:54 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Mason Street.
  • At 4:07 p.m., a woman on Proctor Street called police to report recent vandalism to an apartment.
  • At 5:27 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lynch Street.
Other Arrest 

Roy A. Muckle, 46, of 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
