Alleged Drug Dealer Arrested on Boston Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Sunday, Feb. 9:

  • At 5:14 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Highland Avenue.
  • At 6:11 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Margin Street.
  • At 6:49 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Boston Street. 
  • At 7:04 p.m., police responded to a report of a fight inside a business on Washington Street.
  • At 8:04 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Park Street.
  • At 8:47 p.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted party on Broad Street.
  • At 9:24 p.m., police responded to a report of possible drug activity on Pope Street.

Monday, Feb. 10

  • At 1:12 a.m., police reportedly witnessed a motorist drive into a parked vehicle on Tremont Street. Epide F. Flete, 50, of 38 Mason St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
  • At 5:26 a.m., police responded to a report of fresh graffiti on Chase Street.
  • At 7:23 a.m., following an investigation into an overdose, Salem detectives executed a search warrant at 17 Boston St. Shawn T. Kareem, 32, of 17R Boston St., Salem, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class A substance (Morphine) with intent to distribute, two counts of illegally possessing a class B substance (Suboxone, Methadone) with intent to distribute, two counts of illegally possessing a class C substance (Klonopin, Clonidine) with intent to distribute and illegally possessing a class E substance (Gabapentin) with intent to distribute.
  • At 8:17 a.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue.
  • At 10:40 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue. Sean P. McCarthy, 29, of 10 Spring View Terrace, Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
  • At 3:16 p.m., police responded to a past domestic dispute on Perkins Street.
  • At 4:06 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Pope Street. 
Other Arrest

Charlie A. Lohman, 44, of 34 Fairview Ave., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
