Pistol-Whipping, Robbery Reported on Palmer Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Monday, June 2

  • At 4:08 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Paradise Road.
  • At 4:10 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 4:20 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Traders Way.
  • At 4:33 p.m., police responded to a report of kids throwing things at cars on Highland Avenue.
  • At 4:55 p.m., police made an arrest on Derby Street. Jeanna L. Stamborsky, 40, of 22 Franklin Place, Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 5:04 p.m., police responded to a fight on Leavitt Street.
  • At 6:43 p.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Boston and Bridge streets.
  • At 8:49 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Purchase Street.
  • At 9:29 p.m., police responded to a past attempted break-in on North Street.
  • At 10:08 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Washington Street.
  • At 11:27 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Spring Street.

Tuesday, June 3:

  • At 12:03 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Margin Street.
  • At 1:25 a.m., police responded to a possible water main break on Mason Street.
  • At 7:40 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Federal Street.
  • At 8:16 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Perkins Street.
  • At 9:10 a.m., two people entered the police station to report a past assault and robbery on Palmer Street. The people told police a man pistol-whipped them and stole their scooters on Monday. Police are investigating the incident.
  • At 9:12 a.m., police responded to a report of ducklings in a sewer on First Street. With the help of Jim Levesque of the Salem DPW, the grate was lifted and the ducklings were reunited with their mother.
  • At 9:22 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Mason Street.
  • At 10:09 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist on Lafayette Street.
  • At 12:17 p.m., police responded to a past shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue.
  • At 12:24 p.m., police responded to a past shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue.
  • At 2:33 p.m., police made an arrest on New Derby Street. Guy K. Robinson Jr., 29, 286 Washington St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:00 p.m., police responded to a dispute near the intersection of Loring Avenue and Canal Street. 
Other Arrests

Bernard J. Kelly III, 31, of 205 Highland Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, subsequent offense.

Stephanie M. Nihan, 23, of 19 South Hampton Road, Amesbury, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
