'Road Rage' Incident Leads to OUI Arrest

Wednesday, Jan. 9

Erin Maguire, 24, of 169 East St., Upton, was arrested by Grafton police and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Robert Calagione released Maguire on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 25. According to a police report, Maguire was arrested after police responded to a report of a road rage incident in progress on Route 140 near the Grafton Flea Market. A second driver said he attempted to pass Maguire's car, which he told police was traveling well below the speed limit, and that Maguire's car struck his as he passed. 

Eight protestors  arrested by Westborough police at TransCanada's office on Tuesday were  arraigned before Judge Robert Calagione. Facing charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct are: Shea M. Riester, 22, of 48 Brooksdale Rd., Brighton; Devyn Weis Powell, 20, of 1260 Hideaway Ln., Lake Oswego, OR; Benjamin L. Thompson, 22, of 20 Watson Rd., Durham, NH; Benjamin J. Trolio, 22, of 35 Fruitwood Dr., Burnt Hills, NY; Lisa Rose Purdy, 20, of 26 Fisk St., Waltham; Allison J. Welton, 20, of 648 Highway 7, Tonasket, WA; Dorian S. Williams, 20, of 5301 S. University Ave., Chicago, IL; and Emily Edgerly, 20, of 6 Douglas Rd., Lexington. Judge Calagione released all eight on personal recognizance and set pretrial hearings for March 4.

Adrian B. Ramirez, 29, of 253 Boston Turnpike, Apt. 117, Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, destruction of property over $250, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct. Judge Robert Calagione found Ramirez guilty of assault and battery on a police officer and sentenced him to one year in the House of Corrections, with the term suspended for two years, along with two years of supervised probation. Ramirez was also ordered to remain drug and alcohol free and to complete an anger management program. 

Kaustubh Desai, 26, of 295 Turnpike Rd., Westborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Northborough police to face charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. Judge Robert Calagione released Desai on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 20.  

Felicia Lanctot, 19, of 16 Grist Mill Rd., Grafton, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Grafton police to face a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. Judge Robert Calagione released Lanctot on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Feb. 13. 

Matthew A. Russell, 23, of 70 Spring St., Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with assault and battery. Judge Robert Calagione dismissed the charge at the request of prosecutors. 

Virdiana Hernandez, 30, of 133 Broadmeadow St. Apt. 3, Marlborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Northborough police to face charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop or yield. Judge Robert Calagione found Hernandez responsible on a decriminalized version of the unlicensed charge and ordered her to pay $200 in court costs and found her not responsible on the second charge. 

Antoni Regalado, 22, of 87 Southwest Cutoff, Northborough, was arrested by Northborough police and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, a marked lanes violation, an open container violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Robert Calagione found Regalado guilty on the OUI charge and ordered a 100 day loss of license and $925 in costs and fees. Regalado was found guilty on the unlicensed operation charge, which was filed, and not responsible on the open container and marked lanes charges. 

Isaac Dzomeku, 35, of 40 King St., Apt. 3, Worcester, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with operating with a suspended license and speeding in violation of a special regulation. Judge Robert Calagione dismissed the first charge upon payment of $100 in court cost and found Dzomeku not responsible on the speeding charge.
