Shrewsbury Car, Garage Fire Quickly Doused

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury fire crews made quick work of a garage fire that started from a car sitting inside. The call came in on Monday morning about a structure fire, but crews quickly realized it was car that was the problem.

A car sitting inside of the detached garage was ablaze when crews got to the scene and the garage was starting to catch as well. The first arriving firefighters were able to put the garage out quickly but the car took some more effort.

Officials said the garage sustained minor damage but the car is likely a total loss. No word on what caused the fire.
