To celebrate the winter solstice, which is on Dec. 22 this year, head over to the to hear Metal and Glass. The group's solstice concert this year "will offer a moment of stillness amid the holiday confusion," the event listing says. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

2) Young Somerville Advisory Group
The Young Somerville Advisory Group holds its last meeting of the year today. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Tufts Administration Building, 167 Holland St.
