2nd Suspect in Stoneham Army Vet Murder Stands Trial
One suspect has already been sentenced to life in prison.

WOBURN, MA—The second suspect in the 2013 murder of 27-year-old Army Ranger and Stoneham Joseph Puopolo appeared in Middlesex Superior Court Tuesday.
Jessie Williams, 26, of Medford has charged with murder, armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery, assault in a dwelling and illegal possession of a firearm, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office.

Eugene Tate, 21, of Malden was already convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison in relation to the murder.
Puopolo had been invited to a Micah’sPond Way address where a drug deal was scheduled to occur. Upon arrival, Tate drew a handgun and demanded drugs and money before shooting Puopolo and another man.

Williams is alleged to have also participated in the crime.
WCVB reported Wednesday that the man who invited Puopolo to the location did so ”because he was concerned the proposed deal may be a drug rip-off.”
Police told WCVB that Puopolo was a bystander during the incident.
