$100,000 in Jewelry, 10,000 Pills Recovered in Large Police Raid

Police arrested 15 people during a large-scale raid across Boston and the South Shore.

RANDOLPH, MA — An early morning raid has led to the arrests of over a dozen people, authorities said.

Following a six-month investigation into a drug distribution operation initiated by the Randolph Police Department, more than 200 local and federal officers from more than 20 law enforcement agencies visited 19 homes in the South Shore and Boston and seized large quantities of suspected heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, cash and 10 firearms, according to the Norfolk County's District's office.

Randolph, the lead agency, was assisted by officers from Randolph, Braintree, Quincy, Weymouth, Milton, Holbrook, DEA, FBI, Canton, Dedham, Millis, Wrentham, Plainville, Foxboro, Norfolk County Sheriff's Department, Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Bridgewater, Carver, Brockton, Hingham, and Boston.

The operation and arrests executed without incident, according to Randolph Police Chief William Pace. “This investigation was complex and I commend all agencies that were involved for their professionalism and collaboration in getting these deadly drugs off our streets,” Pace said in a release.

Police recovered 10,000 pills, including oxycodone and fentanyl, heroin and other drugs; cash; $100,000 in jewelry and 10 guns.

The following were arrested and charged, according to the Randolph Police Department:

  • Vincent Bonanno, Randolph, 27 - Trafficking over 200 grams of heroin, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a firearm without a license, distribution of a Class B drug, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $200,000 bail, returning to court April 14.
  • Octavio Nares, Randolph, 38, - Trafficking over 200 grams of heroin, trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession to distribute a Class D drug, and distribution of a Class B drug (Oxycodone). Ordered held on $200,000 bail, returning to court April 12.
  • Jeffrey Graham, Quincy, 35 - Distribution of a Class B drug (Oxycodone), possession to distribute a Class B drug, possession of ammunition without FID card, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and possession of a Class E drug. Ordered held on $10,000 bail, returning to court April 19.
  • Carl H. French, Randolph, 37, - Trafficking over 200 grams of heroin, trafficking over 10 grams of Fentanyl, possession of a firearm without an FID card, money laundering, distribution of a Class B drug, and three counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $500,000 bail, returning to court April 14.
  • Felix A. Valdes, Jr., Milton, 46, - Trafficking fentanyl over 10 grams, trafficking over 200 grams of Phenmetrazine, possession of a firearm in a felony, drug violation near a school/park, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $500,000 bail, returning to court April 14.
  • Shante M. Green, Randolph, 31, - Trafficking over 200 grams of heroin, trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine, possession of ammunition without FID card, and possession to distribute a Class D drug. Ordered held on $50,000 bail, return to court April 19.
  • James P. Laureus, Milton, 37 - Trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine, trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine, possession to distribute a Class B drug, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $300,000 cash bail, return to court April 14.
  • Romeo Andrade, East Bridgewater, 35 - Conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $30,000 cash bail, return to court April 12.
  • William M. Palmer, Randolph, 42 - Conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $1,000 cash bail, return to court April 19.
  • Alex J. French, Brockton, 31 - Conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered held on $100,000 bail, return to court April 14.
  • Tyrone Thompson, East Bridgewater, 42 - Conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered $5,000 bail, return to court April 14.
  • Hashanna R. Williams, Randolph, 32 - Money laundering, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ordered $10,000 bail, return to court April 14.
  • Jeffrey M. Joseph, Brockton, 27 - Conspiracy to violate drug laws. Released on personal recognizance, due to return April 19.
  • Gary E. Elliot, Boston, 30, - Distribution of a Class B drug, possession of a large capacity firearm, trafficking over 200 grams of heroin, carrying a firearm without a license, and defacing firearm serial number. Ordered held on $200,000 bail, due to return to court April 14.
  • Reinaldo Moreno, New Britain, Connecticut, 34 - Conspiracy to violate drug law, possession to distribute Class B drug, and furnishing false name to police officer.
  • Michael Berube, Carver, 33, - Conspiracy to violate drug law.
