STOUGHTON SCHOOLS ON THE RISE: Boston Magazine annually lists the top public school systems in the State. Of the 350 public school districts in Massachusetts, last year we ranked 104th. 

This year, the have climbed to number 80, putting Stoughton among the top 25% of public school districts in the State.  

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi remarked that, "This number puts us well above average, while we still operate with a far smaller than average per pupil expenditure, and have a diverse population with a variety of needs. I think we can be quite proud; while we are aiming for the top 25!"

ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SUPPER: The holds an Italian Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, September 24, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (under 12.)

No tickets will be sold at the door.  For reservations, call 781-344-4592.  Reservations must be made by September 22.  Trinity Parish is located at 414 Sumner Street.

BUSTING WEEDS - The Last One of the Season! The Friends of the Blue Hills hope you'll join them for the last Weed Buster this Saturday, 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Blue Hills Trailside Museum on Rt. 138 on the Milton/Canton line.  

The event is free. Snacks will also be provided.

Come alone and meet new friends, or bring the kids and visit the museum as well. 

The Friends of the Blue Hills would love to see you for as long or as short as you'd like.

GOLF FOR THE SENIORS! Stoughton Friends for Seniors will hold its 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, September 26 at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton. Registration begins at 7 a.m., and shotgun start will come at 8 a.m.

The entry fee is $125, and includes golf cart and dinner, which will be served at the conclusion of the tournament. There will be prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin, and best and worst team score.

There is a $20,000 CASH PRIZE for a hole-in-one!  Reservations must be made by September 19, 2011.
