In this column, Stoughton Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. This week's choice is , located in Sharon at 5 Post Office Square.

From downtown Stoughton it's about 4.5 to 5 miles away and a 10-12 minute drive, depending on route.

Coriander Bistro–There's something romantic about spicy Indian food:  The heat; the burning feeling on your lips; the tendency to take little nibbles of perfectly seasoned cuisine.

Coriander Bistro offers fine Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. While the menu is exotic, each item is given a delectable description, taking the guesswork out of foreign-sounding dishes.

The waitstaff is impeccably polite and friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant is romantic, with high ceilings, soft lighting and a small but well-spaced seating arrangement. It is nicely decorated in a combination of Indian and Nepalese décor.

Owner Ram Dhital suggests Chicken Tikka Masala, an Indian specialty paired with Spicy Spinach, a Nepal-inspired dish along with some freshly made bread.

Some other popular dishes include: Saag Paneer (spinach, ginger onion and cottage cheese cooked in light spices) and Meat Samosa, a crispy turnover filled with ground lamb. A vegetarian samosa, filled with spiced potatoes and peas, is available as well.

Coriander Bistro (781-784-2198) is open 11:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., weekdays and noon to 11:00 p.m. weekends.  Lunch Buffet available.  Unique appetizers, soups and salads ranging from $2.95- $8.95, Indian and Nepalese entrees start at $11.95.
