Police were likely expecting a break-in when they responded to a burglar alarm at Pages Deli on Pearl Street but instead ended up with an alleged drunk driver.

On July 15, Alexander Lavrishin, 36, of Canton, was arrested while police were at the business for the alarm. He was charged with his second drunken driving offense and operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for an OUI.

At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm at the deli, but determined that no one was inside. Outside, however, police observed a man driving into the parking lot for Pages, attempting to enter the closed business, and returning to his car.
