Camper Catches on Fire While Owner Checks Engine

There were no reported injuries at the scene.

STOUGHTON, MA - Fire crews in Stoughton responded to a report of a camper fire Wednesday morning.

According to scanner reports, the 29-foot camper trailer was located at C & J Auto Body. The blaze was reported after 11 a.m.

The fire started after the driver of the camper started the engine while checking it according to the Enterprise. After hearing a loud backfire, smoke began to come from under the hood before the camper was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters shut down a portion of Washington Street as they extinguished the fire, which only took 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
