New Stoughton High School Passes Town Meeting
Monday night, town meeting voted 124-5 to build a new high school.

STOUGHTON, MA - A new Stoughton High Shool is one step closer to becoming a reality.
Monday night, town meeting voted 124-5-4 to build a new high school, according to SMAC. The building proposal now moves on to a town-wide vote.
The $123.5 million project is projected to cost the town $71.3 million. The state will provide over $52 million in funding.
A debt exclusion vote will now take place on June 7. If the plan is approved at the voting booth, construction on a new school will start in July 2017 with a new school ready in time for the 2019-20 school year.
Final site work and completion of the athletic fields are scheduled to be done by September 2020.
