Patch Picks: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It's the one day of the year where it's acceptable to eat foods or drink beverages that really shouldn't be green...green bagels, muffins, beer?

In the spirit of the holiday, this week Patch Picks presents a list of places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style. Thursday also happens to be the true start of the Division 1 NCAA Mens' College Basketball Tournament, with 16 games scheduled to start between 12:15 p.m. and 9:57 p.m. And it's Evacuation Day! Just another reason to celebrate.

* Irish Cultural Centre of New England (Canton)

Located in nearby Canton, just off Route 138 (200 New Boston Drive), the ICC makes for the perfect place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Come and celebrate your heritage at the most authentic place around.  The ICC will be open at 3 p.m. and will feature live Irish music, a full food menu, the cheapest pints around and great “craic.”  The pub is open to both members and non-members, all are welcome.  FREE for ICC Members/$5 General Admission at the door.  Separate cost for food.

* All Day Entertainment at Last Shot

in Stoughton has a full slate of St. Patrick's Day events planned, not to mention countless televisions to watch the college basketball games. Come down and see some quality performances, watch some basketball and enjoy Irish food specials and green beer.

Known for their family-style Italian food, Nocera's is also getting into the St. Patrick's Day spirit. Enjoy New England corned beef and cabbage, served with green jello for dessert ($9.49 for lunch, $11.49 for dinner). This special is available for dine-in guests or take out and delivery.
