Police Log: Woman Seen Jumping from Car, Target Shoplifters Caught

Police Log: Woman Seen Jumping from Car, Target Shoplifters Caught

Sunday, Feb. 16

At 9:12 p.m., Stoughton Police responded to the area of Washignton and Thomas streets on a report of a vehicle spinning its tires. Upon arrival, police issued a summons to a 23-year-old Stoughton man for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, trespassing with a motor vehicle and failure to stop for a police officer while driving. 

Monday, Feb. 17

At 12:10 p.m., police received a report rom a local business owner who claimed that a former employee made threats to him over the phone. The employer agreed to meet the employee at the Stoughton Police Department to hand over a final paycheck. 

At 4:01 p.m., police responded to Target on Hawes Way after receiving a report that two shoplifters at the store. UPon arrival, police arrested a 39-year-old Stoughton woman for a second offense of shoplifting by asportation and shoplifting by price tag tampering, and a 65-year-old Braintree woman for shoplifting by asportation. 

Tuesday, Feb. 18

At 11:19 a.m., police received a report that a truck dropped a can of gas while in the area of Page Street, spilling it onto the roadway. Stoughton officers and fire crews could not locate the spill, and the Department of Public Works was notified to pick up the gas can. 

At 1:57 p.m., police received a report that was redirected by Massachusetts State Police and Randolph Police regarding a female who was seen jumping out of a vehicle in the area of Technology Center Drive. Officers were unable to locate the woman involved, who was described as a black female wearing a black hat, white scarf and a long black coat.
