A casual discussion is set for this weekend to discuss the SHS improvement plan, among other items.

Stoughton Parents Invited to Discuss Future of Stoughton Schools Saturday

Parents in Stoughton are invited to a casual discussion with school administration to review the district's program of studies, graduation requirements and aspects of Stoughton High School's improvement plan

The discussion will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 12 in the Stoughton High School cafeteria. Light refreshments will be served; parents are encouraged to bring their families, as Stoughton High School students will be on hand to babysit during the program.

It's been an active year thus far for the Stoughton school district. Most recently, the Massachusetts School Building Authority approved reimbursements to Stoughton for three separate school building projects at the Hansen, Dawe and West elementary schools.

Earlier this year, the MSBA invited the Stoughton school district into an eligibility period for the proposed rebuilding or construction of a new Stoughton High School, which is the first step in receiving state money to help pay for school-related projects.

Officials subsequently worked to form a building committee, with the Stoughton Town Manager Michael Hartman making appointments to the committee.
