High Wind Warning in Effect for Sudbury Beginning Tonight

Motorists are being advised to take precaution today and tonight as the National Weather Service has issued two advisories.

There is currently a dense fog advisory in effect until 5 p.m. today.

The fog will result in poor visibility.

A dense fog advisory is issued when fog will reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less for at least three hours. This will result in hazardous driving conditions, and motorists are advised to drive slowly as objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range.

A high wind warning will be in effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Winds are expected to be sustained from 20-30 mph from the southwest, with gusts between 50-60 mph.

There is a possibility for downed trees, tree limbs and power lines. Unsecured objects could also become airborne.

A high wind warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are forecast for at least one hour, with gusts of 58 mph or greater at any time.
