As a new board member, McGowan will help with the 2015 Annual Appeal drive now underway. He’s also expressed interest in working with the foundation in the areas of new technology, improving access to historical materials, and community outreach.
The Goodnow Library Foundation was created by the trustees of the library to bridge the gap between public funding and monies needed for improvements to make Goodnow a vibrant 21st century institution.
Since its public debut in 2012, the foundation has funded a complete overhaul of all public access computers, and spearheaded the Children’s Room renovation and the creation of a Community Gathering Space. Recently it hosted a “Tinker Time FUN-Raiser,” an event highlighting future technology, including advanced humanoid robots, 3D printers, an aerial show with radio-controlled planes, and more.
McGowan received his bachelor’s degree from Hanover College in 1993. He is a graduate of the Financial Services Institute at Northeastern University and the College for Financial Planning. Prior to joining Monument Group Wealth Advisors, McGowan was a vice president and senior client advisor at TFC Financial Management in Boston.
McGowan and his wife, Rose, live on Ridge Hill Road in Sudbury. They have two daughters.
