The Class of 2012 will hold graduation ceremonies Sunday at 4 p.m.

Come join other dog lovers on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a day filled with family and canine fun while helping raise money for homeless dogs. "Paws in the Park" will be held at the scenic and historic again this year.

Some of the activities that will be running throughout the day include an agility try-out ring, demonstrations, parade of adoptable dogs, doggie games, face painting for the kids, a silent auction, food, exhibitors, and more.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. Group Walk: 11 a.m. to noon. Admission is $10 (waived if you have pledges — minimum $10). Children younger than 12 are admitted free.

The 12th annual Paws in the Park event is a fundraiser for Save a Dog, Inc., a 501c3 tax exempt humane society. Visit www.saveadog.org/paws2011.asp

Diane Muffitt, an extraordinary band director and general music teacher, is retiring after 32 years at . From present college, high school, and middle school students, to adults now in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, all of Diane’s former students and their families are invited back to participate in the celebration: “The Diane Muffitt Alumni Band.” Alumni will spend Saturday morning catching up with Diane and rehearsing selected musical pieces. 

At 1:30 p.m., Diane will conduct the Alumni Band in concert on the Middle School stage, followed by a casual reception. All are welcome (even if you haven't picked up your instrument in years).

With help from the friends of the rail trail, Cub Scout Pack 1 Wayland will be hosting a rail history presentation and a ride along the Wayland Rail Trail.

1 p.m. - 1:25 p.m. - Richard Conard will give a tour of the historic artifacts near the town library

1:25 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Larry Kiernan will talk about the volunteer efforts underway to make the wayland rail trail part of the Mass Central Rail Trail

1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. - Grab your bike and your helmet for a 2.2-mile ride along the trail.

Come enjoy an early morning pick-up basketball game on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. All abilities are welcome. Weston recreation badge required or a $4 daily fee. Non-residents must be accompanied by a Weston resident.

The pool is open on Saturday afternoons at Weston Middle School for Weston residents and their guests. Weston recreation badge required or a $4 daily fee.

Acton Boxboro Cadette Girl Scout Troop 72344 participants will hold a bake sale fundraiser on Saturday at 9 a.m. at for the Silver Award Project, which is based on bullying.

Come join this great event at 4 p.m. at and enjoy inflatables, a dunk tank, games, pony rides, face painting, prizes, raffles and other activities for the whole family. Admission is free. Games, food and raffles available for a small fee. Rain date is Sunday from 4-7 p.m.
