The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

High School Fight and Chase Really a Movie Scene

 

Saturday, Oct. 20

  • At  1:27 a.m., police received a report of a woman yelling at a bus stop on Loring Avenue. Police checked the area but found no one there.
  • At 1:34 a.m., a Bay View Drive caller reported a man ringing the doorbell and walking away. 
  • At 11:37 a.m., police received a report of a person falling and bleeding from the head in CVS. The person was transported to Salem Hospital.
  • At 11:37 a.m., a Paradise Road caller said her dog was struck by a car and injured. Police learned that the owner received help getting the pet into a vehicle for transport. 
  • At 11:55 a.m., police received a report of larceny on Dennison Avenue. 
  • At 2:03 p.m., a resident on Aspen Road reported receiving annoying phone calls. A harassment prevention order was previously issued but had not been served yet by Peabody police.
  • At 7:47 p.m., police received a report of a man walking in to a business at the mall at 450 Paradise Road and taking $200 worth of merchandise. He was wearing jeans, a black jacket and a Red Sox hat and was last seen walking towards Stop & Shop supermarket wearing a mesh backpack.
  • At 10:18 p.m., a caller reported a gray sedan chasing a female at the entrance to Swampscott High School on Essex Street. The female ran into the high school with a bloody nose. It turned out that the incident was actually a scene from a movie that a college film crew was shooting at the high school.
  • At 11:07 p.m., a caller reported a loud group outside the Italian-American Club at Burpee Terrace.
  • At 11:12 p.m., police received a report of a disturbance at the high school. 
  • At 11:58 p.m., police received a report of a past larceny at 1006 Paradise Road.
