Fight in Police Department Parking Lot Leads to Arrest

Police didn't have far to go to respond to a domestic disturbance Tuesday night.

It occured in the parking lot of

Around 9:30 p.m., Det. O'Neil reported a domestic incident in progress in the parking lot. Several officers responded immediately. The altercation was quelled and one person was arrested.

Lisa Renzullo, 46, 295 Marshall St., Tewksbury, was charged with assault and battery.

Trash pickers go a little too far

Just after noon on Tuesday, a resident at 31 Veranda Ave. called police that two males in a white pickup were going through his trash. The caller said they had also tried to take some items from the side of the house.

Two officers were sent to the home to investigate. In the meantime, a call came in from 94 Marston, reporting almost the exact same circumstances.

The trash pickers were gone by the time officers arrived.

Good Samaritan steps up

Tuesday at 8:16 p.m., police received a call from a woman, distraught because she had left her purse at Haffner's gas station. The woman said she planned to call her bank and credit card companies to cancel all of her cards.

However, less than 20 minutes later, a second woman walked into Police Headquarters and said she had found a purse at Haffner's that had been left there and that she was hoping it could be returned to the owner.

Officers gladly accepted the purse and took it to the home of the owner to return it.

Arrests

Joseph L. Brown, 47, whose address is listed as , 95 Main St., Room 230, was arrested after a motor vehicle stop at . He is charged with operating a motor vehicle after its registration was revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two outstanding warrants.

Nicholas Christopher Chappell, 42, was arrrested Tuesday after allegedly kicking in the door of his girlfriend's room at the . Responding officers arrested Chappell, of 64 Pinedale Ave. Tewksbury, and charged him with assault.
