Men Arrested for Allegedly Cutting Boxes Open, Stealing From Store

The following log entries were provided by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, April 7

  • At 6:32 a.m. officers attempted to serve a woman in Room 203 of Caswell Motel. Julie A. Allain, 37, of 200 Parker Street, Lawrence, was arrested on outstanding warrants for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and shoplifting by asportation.
  • At 5:40 p.m. a caller on Ginsburg Drive reported three suspicious men walking down the street towards the power lines. The caller said the men had a pitbull and were carrying rifles.
  • At 10:22 p.m. a man called the station to report that his girlfriend is threatening to call and make false accusations against him. The caller was asked several times if he wanted to speak with an officer, but he requested only a log entry.

Tuesday, April 8

  • At 5:57 a.m. multiple 911 callers reported a transformer explosion on Trull Road. One caller said there were possibly flames coming from the poll next to her house. Firefighters responded to the house and noticed sparks coming from the pole. National Grid was notified.
  • At 7:24 p.m. loss prevention at Wal-Mart reported a man with a knife and another person stealing from the store. A loss prevention officer reported seeing the man cut open a package with the knife and steal items from inside. Nicholas Kotsonas, 42, of 11 Makos Street, Tyngsboro, was arrested for shoplifting by asportation and two outstanding warrants. Richard A. Lee, 22, of 789 Chelmsford Street, Lowell, was arrested and charged with shoplifting by asportation. 

Wednesday, April 9

  • At 5:21 p.m. a woman came to the station to report that someone went through her unlocked car on Sunnyslope Ave. and took several items.
  • At 6:53 p.m. a woman called to report that someone keeps stealing items from her son’s grave at St. Mary’s cemetery.

Thursday, April 10

  • At 5:21 p.m. an unwanted person was reported on Shawsheen Street. A no trespass order was issued to a male party.
  • At 6:56 p.m. on Ronald Drive a caller to 911 dispatch reported a female family member stole a check earlier in the day, cashed it, and just ran from the house. Police were unable to locate the party after calling in a K-9 Unit.
  • At 3:09 a.m. State Police in Andover reported an erratic operator who got off of I-93 North at Exit 42. Police checked on the party and everything appeared OK.
  • At 5:06 a.m. a woman called from Tomahawk Drive to report that something was just thrown at her house.
