If you want to run for one of the many state offices in the 2014 elections, nomination papers are now available, Secretary of State William Galvin says.
From federal to state, to county to district offices, there are many seats up for grabs in the upcoming election season which is expected to be a busy one with a governor’s race in the forefront.
Federal offices in this election season include U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative.
State races will see candidates running for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of the commonwealth, treasurer and receiver general and auditor.
County level seats include: county commissioner or Franklin Council of Government Committee (except Berkshire, Essex, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Nantucket, Suffolk, Worcester counties), treasurer, register of probate and vacancies.
There are also many district offices on the ballot including: governor’s councillors, state senators, state representatives and district attorney.
The deadline for party and non-party candidates for district and county seats to file nomination papers is April 29. Party candidates for federal and statewide offices have until May 6 and non-party candidates for federal and state offices have to have their papers in by July 29.State primaries are scheduled for Sept. 9 and the state election is Nov. 4.
