Today is Monday, January 6. Here are five things worth knowing today. 

Bluegrass band Southern Rail performs at the next Linden Tree Coffeehouse event at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Main Street in Wakefield – Saturday, January 11 at 8 p.m. Click here to learn more.

Coming up on Tuesday, January 7 at 7 p.m., the Beebe Library welcomes Jayne Hitchcock, an expert on cyber-bullying and cyber-crime, for a talk about online safety. Register at this link.

This Saturday, January 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Beebe Library is holding a magazine giveaway with its old periodicals. A 10 cent donation for each magazine is requested for the Friends of the Beebe Library.

The Wakefield School District is holding some upcoming budget forums, for both local residents for school staff. The community forums are Thursday, January 9 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Woodville School, and Wednesday, January 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Dolbeare School.
