Progress is evident in Wakefield this week with two older buildings in the process of being torn to the ground to make way for new buildings and projects.

The former , located at 335 Albion Street, closed its doors after 65 years of business on June 1, 2011. Developer DUC Residential plans to build townhomes on the property by summer of 2012.

The former Verizon building, located at 451 Main Street, is being torn down to build a building.
