Vehicle Strikes Pole, And Missing Dog Reported Over Weekend
Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, January 24 and Sunday, January 26, 2014.
On Friday, January 24 at 8:58 a.m., police were informed that a vehicle struck a telephone pole on Green Street. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the operator was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 1:25 p.m. police took a report of a larceny.
At 2:51 p.m. police took a report involving harassing phone calls.
At 6:26 p.m., a caller near Prospect Street and North Ave. reported a two car accident with one vehicle apparently on fire. Police issued a summons to a 35 year old Reading man charging him with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, attaching a number plate not assigned, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.
At 10:44 p.m. the fire department responded to Lowell Street for a report of smoke coming from an oven.

On Saturday, January 25 at 12:59 a.m., a building owner on Princess Street reported a burst water pipe. The fire department responded.
At 1:32 a.m. police took a call about a loud party on Salem Street. They agreed to quiet down for the evening.
At 6:14 a.m. police received a call about a possible attempted phone scam.
At 10 a.m. police took a report about a possibly stolen item.
At 1:44 p.m. police arrested David J. Spadafora, 20, 9 Greenwood Street, Wakefield, and charged him with violating a 209A abuse prevention order.
At 4:06 p.m. a caller reported a pedestrian stuck by a vehicle near Main Street and Centre Street.
At 6:43 p.m. a caller reported his car was struck by a snowball near Oak Street and Acorn Ave. No culprits were spotted and there was also apparently no snow in the roadway.

On Sunday, January 26 at 2:10 a.m. a caller reported that his roommate had returned home drunk and assaulted him and left. He declined to pursue charges.
At 8:23 a.m. a man was reported down on the ground on Lassell Street and was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 5:06 p.m. a black and white Chihuahua as reported missing from Dillaway Street.
At 5:53 p.m. a car alarm was reported going off for hours on Meriam Street. The matter was resolved.
At 10:42 p.m. a caller reported two females possibly looking into cars on Madison Ave. They turned out to be looking for a missing dog.
