Walpole's Spring Brook Park Set to Open Thanks to Northeastern University Students

The project includes the construction of the Spring Brook Bridge and Ramada

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers at Northeastern University (NUASCE) over the last five years, Spring Brook Park is opening to the public on Saturday October 3, with a dedication ceremony at 11:00 am at the intersection of School and East Streets in Walpole.

Designed and constructed by Northeastern University College of Engineering students, Greg Sands (’13), Evan Borsetti (’13), Paul Yingling (’13), Ezgi Kosereisoglu (’15), Jonathan Martiniello (’15) and Evan Hayes (’16) under the advisement of professors Dan Dulaski, Peter Furth and Bob Tillman, the project includes the construction of the Spring Brook Bridge and Ramada. The pedestrian bridge which spans Spring Brook, improves the Bay Circuit Trail and provides an off-road opportunity for trail users while the ramada provides a covered area for picnics, performances, and gatherings.

In addition to the ceremony, held in conjunction with town officials, light refreshments will be served followed by an organized hike along the Bay Circuit Trail.
