Brandeis Gets Shoutout on Simpsons' Boston Episode

The episode lampooning all things Boston snuck in a brief shot of area colleges.

WALTHAM, MA – Brandeis University is the stuff of Bart Simpson's nightmares.

Well, not just Brandeis -- Emerson, Northeastern and all higher education.

In Sunday night's Simpsons episode, "The Town," all of greater Boston was fair game for satirizing. And Brandeis was no exception.

First pointed out by Twitter user Martin Lieberman, the Waltham university appeared as one of the manifestations of Bart's greatest fears:

The scene comes after Bart realizes he isn't living in the Boston depicted in movies like "The Departed" and "The Town" and starts to panic about being surrounded by so much culture.

"Theaters! Colleges! Culture?!" he exclaims, as he becomes trapped by area theaters, universities and museums.

Nothing was safe from lampooning in The Simpsons' Boston episode, which took on "Cheers," sports fanatics, Southie, candlepin bowling, charter schools and much more.
