A new study has found that Waltham is one of the best cities to live in Massachusetts.
Credit Donkey, a company that provides credit report information to consumers, focused on five key factors:
- Odds of being a victim of a violent crime
- Commute time
- Residents who attended some college
- Restaurants per capita
Waltham ranked fifth on the list for best cities to live in Massachusetts, according to Credit Donkey.
Here’s why Waltham received high marks:
“Once part of nearby Watertown, Waltham earned the nickname the ‘Watch City’ thanks to the Waltham Watch Co., which produced over 40 million watches and clocks here in the 19th century. Less than 10 miles from Boston, Waltham is home to Bentley College and Brandeis University. The city features active nightlife and an eclectic dining scene, topping our list with 260 restaurants and bars to choose from, many of them on Moody Street.”
Two North Shore communities, Beverly and Gloucester, were ranked number one and two in the study, respectively. Woburn was fourth.
What do you think of the results? Do you agree that Waltham is one of the best cities to live?
