Is the Weston Road/Linden Street Intersection Too Dangerous?

A on Weston Road at Linden Street yesterday when a man on a bicycle was struck and killed by a truck heading northbound.

The man, who has yet to be identified, may have been a nearby resident of the area, according to a NECN report. The driver of the truck has yet to be located by authorities.

Following the incident, there was an outpouring of discussion across a variety of social media platforms and news websites about the dangerousness of the intersection. Wellesley Patch readers named it in Wellesley in the comments section of a recent article.

The intersection features only a blinking red stop light from Linden to the turn onto Weston Road.

Does this area call for a routine traffic light? If not, should this intersection be changed in some way? Or was yesterday’s event simply an accident? Leave your opinion in the comments.
