Rep. Dykema, Others Host Teens and Drugs Presentation Monday

On Monday June 9, state Rep. Carolyn Dykema is hosting a discussion for parents about teenage substance abuse in the Robert H. Adams Middle School Auditorium in Holliston at 7 p.m.

“There are some very dangerous and deadly drugs on the streets, even in Holliston,” Dykema stated. “The consequences for drug abuse are high and the best solution is prevention. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss this important issue with parents in our community.”

The presentation will include both informational and personal elements as parents share stories of their experiences with teen drug use. Dykema and local parent Kathy Peirce will provide opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion.

The panel will include Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Chief John Moore and Detective Charles Todd of the Holliston Police, and Bill Phillips of New Beginnings Adolescent Substance Abuse Program.

Families needing immediate assistance regarding teen drug abuse can contact The Holliston Youth and Family Services at 508-429-0620 and the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse Hotline at 1-800-327-5050 for help.

Dykema represents voters in Holliston, Hopkinton, and Westborough.

Submitted by the office of state Rep. Carolyn Dykema.
