'Sizable' Damage to Police Cruiser After Morning Crash

The Westborough officer was involved in the crash early this morning while responded to a crash on Route 9.

'Sizable' Damage to Police Cruiser After Morning Crash

Officer Tyson Delong crashed a cruiser shortly after 3 a.m. while responding to a report of a two car crash on Route 9 west near the nursery.

“He lost control of the vehicle and it struck the jersey barrier,” Police Chief Alan Gordon told Westborough Patch. “There were no injuries.”

Gordon said that the roads were snow covered at the time. He said the damage was limited to the front end of the 2011 Crown Victoria cruiser. He called the damage “sizable” and estimated it to be between $3,000 to $4,000.

He was sent to the hospital for minor injuries after that incident.

Gordon said Delong was not injured in today’s crash. He returned to the department and finished out his shift.

There were also no injuries reported in the two car crash to which Delong was responding.
