WESTON, MA — Three people were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision in Weston on Tuesday.
Police Capt. Thomas Kelly said the crash appeared to have been caused by a 61-year-old Wayland man who was driving one of the cars when he suffered a "medical episode."
The crash occurred on Route 30 near the Natick line, close to 1751 South Avenue when a Jeep and Honda sedan collided.
"He drifted over the center line and crashed head-on into the other vehicle," Kelly said of the Wayland man.
The Honda then flipped, causing it to catch fire, but luckily both the driver and passenger, both from Chelmsford, were able to get out of the car.
Kelly said there were no major injuries to report, but all three were taken to hospitals. The Wayland man was later transferred by helicopter to Boston Medical Center.
