JAR Home Featuring Weston Artist at Holiday Open House

The open house will take place Wednesday with plenty of well-priced gift ideas on hand.

JAR Home Featuring Weston Artist at Holiday Open House

JAR Home in Weston center will welcome local artist Kathryn Scadden during a wine and cheese open house Wednesday from 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Justine Richards, co-owner of JAR Home, said Scadden approached the home furnishings and interior design studio about displaying some of her work as she navigates the process of becoming an artist member of the Copley Society of Art.

Scadden specializes in nautical and beach scenes, Richards said.

Richards said that Scadden, a Weston resident, is exactly the type of artist her store likes to feature: Local talent with a variety of price points. JAR Home regularly displays artwork and other items from Weston-based and other local artists and designers.

In addition to the open house offering an excellent opportunity for guests to pick up a last-minute unique gift, Richards said it would also provide a welcome opportunity to pause in the midst of a busy holiday season.

"It’s one of those things where we’ve been really busy with holiday activities for our clients, basically getting their homes ready,” Richards said. “This was kind of a nice break. It will give people a chance to connect with other Weston and Wayland residents and take a break from all the holiday busyness."

The open house will take place from 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Richards expects Scadden to display about 30 pieces, most of which will be in in the 4x6 range, but a few will be larger.

JAR Home will donate 10 percent of sales during the event to Weston300.
