Marty Walsh: 200 Youth Jobs Coming to Boston Area
The jobs will come at a cost of $270,000.

The city of Boston is creating 200 more jobs this summer for youths in the area, announced Mayor Marty Walsh in a statement from his office. The jobs will come at a cost of $270,000.
âSummer jobs provide more than just a source of income for our young people,â said Walsh.
Boston already places more than 10,000 young people in summer jobs, illustrating the priority Walsh places on employing youths during the months in which they are away from the classroom.

Walsh hopes to further combat youth violence through the creation of the new jobs. Earlier this month, Walsh announced a partnership with John Hancock and Boys & Girls Club of Bostonâs Youth Connect initiative.
âThese jobs provide valuable work experience, mentorship opportunities, self- confidence and most importantly, an opportunity to see a new and better future,â Walsh added.
