Police Log: Assault and Battery, Loose Chickens and Bullies

Police Log: Assault and Battery, Loose Chickens and Bullies

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, October 15 to Tuesday, October 16.

Monday, October 15

12:07 p.m.: A caller reported a tall male party walked around the Citizens Bank parking lot when he arrived at the bank. The man was still there when the caller left the bank, and he believed the person was suspicious. Police were unable to locate the party.

12:16 p.m.: Police followed up on a call reporting that a resident on Muse Ave. has chickens that are loose all the time and they do not have food or water. The Animal Control Officer left notice for the resident to contact her.

1:55 p.m.: An employee at Walgreens on Main Street reported they stopped a female party trying to take energy bars and she is in the front office. Officers reported that the party made a purchase and put unpaid items in her bag. Management caught her and retrieved the items, and requested a no trespass order that was served in hand.

2:53 p.m.: On Route 38, a caller reported that she was walking and found a syringe on the ground a few feet before the “Entering Tewksbury” sign.

3:15 p.m.: A caller on Shawsheen Ave. reported that he had a 150 pound pumpkin in the front corner of his yard that was cut up.

5:37 p.m.: Police received a call that a group of about 15 youths at the Shawsheen School park threatened her nine-year-old son and his friend. The children said the group cursed at them and threatened to harm them. Officers spoke with the caller and children involved, who were unable to identify the particular youths making the threats. The group was advised of their expected behavior.

8:55 p.m.: Callers on Shawsheen Ave. reported there was a man sleeping on the side of the road in his car, and the caller was unsure if the man needed medical attention. The caller reported the party woke up and said he was waiting for AAA. The vehicle was towed to the driver’s home, and Keegan S. Farnham, 20, of 83 Nichols Street in Wilmington, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, October 16

9:13 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Main Street as a result of a road rage incident. CVS and Market Basket both attempted to retrieve video of the incident. Daniel J. Johnson, 41, of 1132 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery.

1:55 p.m.: On Pineridge Road a caller reported that his dirtbike was stolen from a shed on the property sometime the previous night. The bike was unlocked outside the shed and there was also an attempt to break into the back of the shed.

6:12 p.m.: A Molloy Road caller reported that when her daughter got off the school bus today a suspicious blue pick up truck was parked outside of her household. When the household door was opened to meet the school bus, the truck took off very quickly. The man was described as a white male wearing a baseball cap.
