The Massachusetts job market is slowly improving, and one top state official wanted to see first hand an example of just why that is.

According to a press release on PRWeb.com, United States Senator Scott Brown toured the Wilmington headquarters of Symbotic, a business that offers low cost solution for warehouse automation, during a Friday trip to town.

"Companies like Symbotic create jobs, boost our economy and ensure our country’s competitiveness,” said Senator Brown in the release on PRWeb.com. “I’m committed to find ways to make it easier for talented entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses and maintain our status as the world’s greatest economic force.”

State officials recently released unemployment numbers for the state, which is performing better than many in the area. were also released for recent months, and the percentage dropped off slightly.

During Senator Brown’s visit, he toured Symbotic’s manufacturing, research and development facility, according to the release. Brown also talked with many of the 88 workers who are employed at the business.

Brown also spoke separately with Symbotic executives, discussing recent jobs legislation and other topics.

“Senator Brown recognizes the importance of supporting start-ups in Massachusetts’s thriving robotics cluster,” said Jim Baum, CEO of Symbotic, in the PRWeb.com release. “Symbotic employs over 100 men and women and we’re proud to have his support of job growth and recognize our commitment to developing disruptive technology that makes this country more competitive.”
