Public Information Session on Lands Surrounding Wright-Locke Farm

Members of the community can learn more about the residential development that may be built around Wright-Locke Farm and the impact it could have on the surrounding lands at a public information session on Wednesday.
Archie McIntyre, the Executive Director of the Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy, will hold a presentation about the impact the developments could have on the farm and how the farm is working to preserve the land.
Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy, 78 Ridge St., is owned by the Town of Winchester and is free and open to members of the community.

The Town is trying to sell the land surrounding the farm to pay debts, according to the Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy website.
The farm grows produce, raises farm animals and offers various community events, activities, educational opportunities. The proposed residential development could endanger the farm’s education and agriculture programs and destroy the surrounding viewsheds, according to the Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy FAQ page.

The public information session will be held Wednesday at the Winchester Public Library, 80 Washington St., in the Large Meeting Room, according to the Wright-Locke Farm Facebook page.
The meeting kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
The farm’s goal is to raise $7 million in donations by Jan. 6, 2015 to purchase the 12.6 acres and outbid the developers.
