On Saturday, Jan. 11, an officer was dispatched to Mill Terrace for a report of a possible breaking and entering.
According to the homeowners, their daughter saw two suspicious men park a vehicle in their driveway earlier in the day.
The daughter had some friends over the house earlier while her parents were doing errands, and at about 12 p.m. she said a green car backed into the driveway and two men got out of the vehicle and began smoking cigarettes.
Not recognizing the men, the daughter was able to take a cell phone image of the men and the vehicle. She sent it in a text message to her father, informing him of the situation. The father returned home shortly after receiving the message, but the men had already left.
The father then began looking around the house for any foul play and noticed that the screen to his upstairs bathroom window appeared to be slightly dislodged. He removed the screen, and when he looked at the ground underneath he saw two compressions in the ground that would be consistent with a ladder being placed against the house.
According to the man, he then went outside in the backyard and saw a ladder laying on the ground that is normally stored inside of his winterized boat. It was at that time that he contacted police.
A neighbor told police that he also saw the car parked in the driveway. The men were talking and pointing at several different houses in the neighborhood. Police were unable to locate the suspects when they searched the surrounding area.
