Peabody Man Busted in Prostitution Sting
The man allegedly denied that he did anything wrong and said he just wanted to talk, said police.

A 36-year-old Peabody man was arrested after he allegedly tried to pay an undercover officer $100 for sex in a Woburn hotel room.
Woburn Police along with the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force arrested a Peabody man, 36, and charged him with paying for sexual conduct.
The man reportedly contacted an undercover officer after seeing a listing in the “Escort” portion of the “Adult Entertainment” section of backpage.com.

The Peabody man reportedly set up a meeting time to meet the “prostitute” in a Woburn hotel room. He arrived at the hotel about 7 p.m. Thursday.
He reportedly told the undercover officer that he wanted what they discussed on the phone and placed $100 on the table. At that point, the undercover officer notified the surveillance officers who entered the room and arrested the Peabody man.

“Prostitution, along with acat act of paying, agreeing or offering to pay another person to engage in sexual conduct is a quality of life issue in that it often takes place in hotels, office buildings and/or apartment buildings where there is pedestrian traffic where customers often blend in, is often associated with drug usage, drug addiction, sexually transmitted disease, human trafficking, abuse and violence, including assault, rape and robbery,” according to the SMRDTF.
