POLICE LOG: Dog Causes Crash; Cat Left Out


The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Aug. 29 – At 6:07 p.m., a Salem man reported he struck a parked car in the Baldwin Park I lot after his dog jumped on his lap and distracted him. There were no reported injuries.

At 6:14 p.m., a Woburn woman reported a civil issue with her landlord. According to police, the woman claimed that her landlord entered her home on Monday and left her cat outside. Police asked if the woman was the only person on the lease, and she is not. The officer informed her that the other lease-holder may have granted permission for the landlord to enter the residence. The woman also told police that the MSPCA was at her home and left a business card under the door. Police attempted to contact both the landlord and the MSPCA regarding the situation, but was unable to reach anyone. 


Other Incidents:

Aug. 29 –

At 2:52 p.m., an Anthony Drive resident reported vandalism. According to police, the resident’s car windshield was smashed.

At 4:01 p.m., a Woburn woman reported someone used her personal information to apply for a Target credit card without her permission.

At 5:11 p.m., police responded to the Central Grille on Main Street for a report of vandalism. According to police, a man walked by the eatery and tore down the restaurant’s banner. Police spoke to the man, who said that he was angry he had missed the bus and tore down the banner in anger. Police advised the man to not do it again.

At 6:15 p.m., police cited a Campbell Street man after he hit a parked car on Main Street.

At 8:05 p.m., police reported seeing a 15-year-old teen, sentenced to house arrest, outside his home on Main Street. Police noted the teen was outside three different times with friends, violating his sentence. A reported was forwarded to the teen’s probation officer.

At 8:39 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a two-car accident on Commerce Way by the Woburn Mall. According to police, one car rear-ended another stopped at the red light.
