It's been a tough winter, but Laugh Riot Productions and a host of local comedians want to make the spring full of smiles with the return of their Comedy Series at the Crestview Banquet Hall.

Starting on April 1, three top Boston-area comics will be taking the stage to kick off the return of funny. The three performers selected for April Fool's Day are Joey Carroll, Christine Hurley, and Woburn native Jack Lynch.

“We really weren’t sure what to expect when we did our first show here about a month ago,” said Michael Smith of Laugh Riot. “We thought Woburn would be a great area for comedy and it turned out we were right when 119 people were here for the show.”

Wanting to bring a more hilarious attitude to Woburn is enough, but Laugh Riot Productions is going one step further by taking into account the current economic climate and keeping ticket prices low, along with a special dinner deal with each event.

“We want to give the area the best possible events while at the same time keeping the cost below Boston prices. We will continue to bring in the best Boston comics and fully expect the word will spread as to how good the shows are,” said Smith.

Tickets for the show are just $15 dollars and for ten dollars more, you can add an all-you-can-eat buffet to your date.

Crestview Owners, Peter Ginivisian and Adam Warnock, are very excited about the upcoming shows.

“We hope this continues to grow,” said Ginivisian. “We had a great turnout for the first show and the comments from the people in attendance were all positive. As long as the public continues to support these events, we will continue to make sure the top Boston area comics will be here.”

As for the comedians, Joey Carroll is a Boston favorite whose no-holds-barred style has earned him a regular spot in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, as well as appearances at the Montreal Comedy Festival and on Comedy Central’s Pulp Comics. For the past five years, Carroll has toured the Middle East war zones entertaining U.S. troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other countries where U.S. servicemen and women are serving.

Christine Hurley was the first runner-up in the nationally televised "Nick-At-Nites" search for America's Funniest Mom contest and frequently tours with national comedian Loretta LaRoche and works with LaRoche’s production company. Hurley has appeared at the top comedy rooms all over the country.

Jack Lynch, who is from Woburn and a Woburn High graduate, is a 16-year veteran of the Boston comedy scene who has toured all over the United States and parts of Canada, entertaining crowds with his earthy style, great impressions, and clean but sarcastic view of the world.
