Interstate Closed Most Of Day For Fatal Tanker Rollover, Spill

WHATLEY, MA — I-91 has been closed for most of the day after a tractor trailer rolled over, claiming the life of the driver. Police said the crash occurred shortly after noon Wednesday and remained close past 8 p.m.

A 2018 Freightliner tractor pulling a tanker trailer with gasoline was driving on 91 North when the driver lost control and drove off the right side of the road. The area where he crashed was already down to one lane for miles due to construction.

The gasoline spill resulted in a Hazmat situation that closed 91 North and South.
